grazie mille per aver accettato di rilasciare questa intervista in occasione dell'uscita italiana di L’amore è un gioco pericoloso (The Matchmaker's Playbook).
1) Quando e come è nata la tua passione per la scrittura?
I started writing as an escape. i’ve always been an avid reader but when I started working after college, I realized I needed a place to just…escape to that was more than reading. I was a school counselor and dealt with a lot of rough cases, I’m so thankful that I was able to find a passion.
Ho iniziato a scrivere per fuggire. Sono sempre stata una lettrice avida ma quando ho iniziato a lavorare dopo il college, ho realizzato di aver bisogno di un posto solo per…scappare che andava oltre la lettura. Ero una consulente scolastica e ho avuto a che fare con un bel po’ di casi duri, sono così grata di essere riuscita a trovare una passione.
2) Dove preferisci scrivere? In quale momento della tua giornata? Descrivici il tuo scenario di lavoro ideale!
I LOVE writing in my office, usually in the mornings and during Thors nap time! Right now I’m writing outside because it’s so pretty and we’ve had a really rough winter! I’m in the shade listening to Despacito haha!
AMO scrivere nel mio ufficio, di solito alla mattina o durante i pisolini di Thors! Ora scrivo all’aperto perché è così bello e abbiamo appena avuto un inverno veramente rigido! Sono all’ombra ad ascoltare Despacito ahah!
3) Hai scritto tanti romanzi, la Wingmen Inc. è la tua terza serie ad essere pubblicata in Italia. C'è un tuo libro o un tuo personaggio cui ti senti più legata?
Oh man thats a tough question! I feel really connected to Wes from the Ruin series and honestly I feel a super strong connection to Ian and Lex in the Wingman books, I love the way they look at the world and women.
Oh cavolo, è una domanda difficile! Mi sento molto connessa a Wes della serie Ruin e onestamente sento una connessione veramente forte con Ian e Lex dei libri di Wingmen Inc., amo il modo in cui guardano al mondo e alle donne.
4) Di cosa si occupa esattamente la Wingmen Inc., la società segreta che da il nome a questa tua nuova serie?
So Wingman Inc is basically exactly what it sounds like, they play your Wingman and help you get your man ;)
Quindi, la Wingmen Inc. è praticamente ed esattamente quello che sembra, fanno finta di essere la tua spalla e ti aiuta ad avere l’uomo ;)
5) Come è nata l'idea di base della serie Wingmen Inc.? Ti sei ispirata a qualcosa / qualcuno in particolare?
I thought it would be a fun idea to have two guys be the matchmakers, two hot guys who you’d NEVER expect to be the ones helping girls out, they’re famous manwhores who actually have hearts! I love the idea that they use a computer program to match people and actually care.
Pensavo sarebbe stata un’idea divertente avere due uomini come organizzatori di incontri, due uomini belli e sexy che non ti aspetteresti MAI possano essere quelli che aiutano le ragazze, sono dei famosi donnaioli che hanno dei cuori! Amo l’idea che usino un programma al computer per abbinare le persone e che gli importi sul serio.
6) Descrivi The Matchmaker's Playbook con tre aggettivi!
Hilarious, Heartwarming, Sexy
Spassoso, commuovente, sexy
7) Ho letto che The Matchmaker's Playbook e The Matchmaker's Replacement diventeranno film. Puoi dirci qualcosa a riguardo?
I’m so excited, we begin casting this summer and shooting this fall. The minds behind Passionflix (a new streaming app like netflix) are incredible and I’m so excited to see the books get brought to life!
Sono veramente emozionata, inizieremo i casting questa estate e a girare questo autunno. Le menti dietro Passionflix (una nuova app di streaming come Netflix) sono incredibili e sono così emozionata di vedere i libri prendere vita!
8) Nel tuo dreamcast ideale, chi vorresti nei panni di Ian, Blake, Lex e Gabi?
AH thats such a hard question! I love Douglas Booth for Lex, Nick Robinson for Ian, and Vanessa Hudgens for Gabby? :) I think? :) Im not as sure for Gabby as I am for Lex and Ian!
Ah, è una domanda veramente difficile! Amo Douglas Booth per Lex, Nick Robinson per Ian e Vanessa Hudgens per Gabby? :) Penso? :) Non sono così sicura su Gabby quanto lo sono su Lex e Ian!
9) So che ami molto leggere. Che generi letterari preferisci? Ci consiglieresti qualche romanzo che ti è rimasto nel cuore?
I read EVERYTHING! I just recently finished Stand by Al Jackson it was incredible…anything by Molly Mc Adams makes my heart soar ;) And I’m obsessed with all regency romance. Christi Caldwell has some great ones!
Leggo TUTTO! Ho appena finito Stand di Al Jackson ed è incredibile… Tutto di Molly Mc Adams fa librare il mio cuore ;) E sono ossessionata da tutti i romanzi regency. Christi Caldwell ne ha di veramente belli!
